Remote area operations: Remote first responder

Course Overview

RAO.RFR provides highly practical emergency medical training for mining teams operating in isolated regions.

The three-day course assumes participants have no prior emergency medical or first aid training, and doesn't replace mandatory first aid training.

For participants with prior training, the intensely practical course is challenging and an excellent opportunity to refresh skills and knowledge.

Competencies

By the end of the course, participants can:

  • Provide a robust first response to a range of life-threatening medical emergencies
  • Understand and use the specialist emergency medical equipment available to the remote first responder.

Outcomes

Participants emerge with:

  • initial or enhanced emergency management capabilities
  • confidence and ability to use specific emergency medical equipment.
